As a testament to the vision of its founder, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque sits majestically at the entrance to the UAE capital. This marvel of islamic design and architecture is easily recognised by its pure white colour, clad with pristine marble from Macedonia.

This labour of love is one the world’s largest mosques and can accommodate 40,000 worshippers at one time. Its prayer areas are lined with the world's largest hand-knotted carpet where worshippers sit under the gleaming lights of 24-carat gold chandeliers. One of which is the world’s largest, measuring 10 metres in diameter, 15 metres in height and weighing 12 tonnes.

During the day, the mosque's striking white and gold colours shine in the sun. At night, the structure is brought to life by a unique lightning system, which reflects the phases of the moon transforming the entire mosque into an artistic masterpiece and a symphony of colours and shades.
