There are so many epic watersports activities to keep you entertained, you’ll fall in love with Abu Dhabi!

For watersports fun in a family-friendly sports and leisure destination that’s a bit of a hidden gem, the state-of-the-art Al Forsan International Sports Resort is home to Arabia’s first wakeboarding, waterskiing and kneeboarding cable ski parks. A winner in Abu Dhabi tourism, this park features a huge overhead cable erected around the banks of the purpose-built ‘pro’ and ‘beginner’ lakes. The cable travels between 29 to 38kph (depending on the level of experience), pulling participants around the lake on their chosen board or ski, specifically wakeboard, wakeskate, kneeboards, mono ski or water ski.

If you’re looking for water-based activities to do in Abu Dhabi, the Jalboot Watersports Centre is an exceptional waterfront, lifestyle and leisure destination operated by Jalboot and Wake up Adventure. Offering an impressive range of motorised and non-motorised activities, including wakeboarding, wake surfing, SUP yoga and more, Jalboot is guaranteed to offer you the adventure of a lifetime out on the water.

One of the best places to visit in Abu Dhabi, Wadi Adventure is a fantastic family-friendly adventure park that sits at the base of the majestic and history-rich Jebel Hafit mountain, Abu Dhabi’s tallest peak, about an hour and a half away from the city in Al Ain. Home to the Middle East’s first man-made white water rafting channels, measuring 1,100 metres in length and perfect for rafting and kayaking, Wadi Adventure also has a surfing wall, wakeboarding facilities, swimming pool and splash pool. Action fans will love the park’s exhilarating aerial adventure course that includes an 18-obstacle, two-level airpark, 1,200-metre long zip line, vertical climb line and 14-metre high giant swing.

A global provider of watersports equipment and instruction centres, Watercooled has teamed up with Radisson Blu Hotel & Resort, Abu Dhabi Corniche, to offer watersports activities to guests and members of the Radisson Blu Beach Club & Spa. With certified instructors on board, the centre is endorsed and accredited to run Royal Yacht Association (RYA) courses in sailing, windsurfing and powerboating.

The family-friendly Sea Hawk Water Sports and Adventures, owned by an Emirati PADI Master Diver, offers a full spectrum of PADI-certified courses. From junior to master, each course is tailored to suit every person’s needs, with special intensive courses allowing for certification completion in just four days; perfect for visiting overseas guests. Using its team’s unique local sea knowledge and expertise, Sea Hawk also offers daily dive packages to five locations off Abu Dhabi’s expansive coastline, including one exploring mysterious shipwrecks, and another that gets you up close to the emirate’s teeming micro life.

A pioneer of Abu Dhabi’s kayaking tours, Noukhada takes you through the capital’s natural mangrove forests, with trips exploring the lush habitat dotting the plethora of islands in view of the rising city skyline. Try either a low- or high-tide one-and-a-half to two-hour kayaking tour or, for something different, book a Full Moon Tour. Noukhada also offers half-day island exploration tours, or you can opt for a beach barbecue, or overnight camping stays. Noukhada also operates from Yas Beach where kayaks, SUPs, windsurfing boards and sailing boats are available to rent, or for tours and lessons.

If you’re planning a Dubai trip, visit Abu Dhabi before or after your holiday there. We’re only an hour away from Dubai by car, so once you’ve seen Dubai tourist attractions on your Dubai vacation, head to Abu Dhabi!
